What is the Rust tutorial on a server?

It is Facepunch's built-in introduction for new players. It places you on a separate island to practise gathering, crafting, building and cooking, then moves you to the main map. The server's own rates, rules and wipe cycle apply once you arrive.

Should a new player choose a tutorial server?

It is a reasonable first step, since the island gives you the controls without interference from other players. The main map afterwards is unchanged, so check the Group column and the gather rate before committing. Many official servers keep the tutorial enabled, which means you can learn on a busy, well-populated server rather than a quiet one.

Do servers with the tutorial enabled wipe on a different schedule?

No. The tutorial is a setting, not a separate mode, and the server wipes on its usual cycle. Most listed here wipe monthly; a smaller number run weekly or fortnightly. The Next wipe column on each row gives the estimate, and a server's own page carries more detail.

Can two players use the tutorial together?

The island itself is played alone, but you join the same main map afterwards and can team up there. The Group column shows each server's team limit. Pick a row whose limit fits your group before you both connect.
